We received a note from one of our members and wanted to share this message.
Sergeant Timmie Keyser, a 17 year veteran of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, was involved in an accident which lead to problems with her neck. After some suggested surgery to correct the problems, it left Timmie a quadriplegic. She spent over a month in the hospital and another five weeks in a Rehabilitation Center.
Timmie and her family are struggling with this life altering event while trying to provide the necessary medical supplies, equipment, house renovations and transportation required to meet her needs.
Timmie is a native Floridian who graduated from Seminole High School in1987 and recently earned a BS Degree in Criminal Justice. Her husband, Rich is also a Sergeant with the Sheriff's Office and together they have six children, three each. Timmie's parents, Phil and Gail Howe, are both retired from the Sheriff's Office; Phil as a Sergeant with over 25 years of service. Gail returned to work four years ago but left her position in order to assist with Timmie's care, which is required 24/7.
